Lovely place to visit any time of year. The lilac trees are beautiful and so many different walks to choose from. Absolutely worth a visit. Watched a mama duck with her 15 chick’s playing in the lake. Beautiful.
The car park is a little small so was full when we arrived. We did park on the main road as did a few others. We had a nice walk around with our dog. We were going to call at the cafe but it was very busy. Overall a nice morning out.
Such a beautiful place! Really enjoyed strolling around and taking photos of the blossoming trees. It has become a favorite park of my partner’s and I can truly see why.

Turner, Thomas Girtin and John Sell Cotman. Kirkstall Abbey was acquired by the Leeds Corporation as a gift from Colonel North and opened to the public in the late 19th century. The gatehouse became a museum, which is now part of the Leeds Museums & Galleries group.

Free entry. The historical site closes relatively a bit early during summer time, but the park around it is also nice which allows seeing the site from a bit distance away. For parking, the Kirkstall Abbey Car Park nearby is free also. A very nice place for a weekend walk.
I really enjoyed visiting this site. At first I didn’t realize I could go inside. You enter via the gift shop. There is a play kitchen area in the remnants of the abbey’s kitchen that any little one would enjoy. This was a very quiet place with just two other parties wandering about on a cold Tuesday afternoon. Very peaceful place in a park setting. You could see it all in 30 minutes or you could wander longer.
Very reasonable entry fee with free parking across the road near the museum. Excellent free audio guide on your phone and a volunteer guide who showed us around (Trevor) was amazing. Well worth a 1- 2 hour visit for families with children, good playground near the car park.

What a lovely place this is, so spacious and lovely walks. I took a walk around the lake, it’s a steady walk not strenuous at all. The swans i found were quite friendly and can get quite close to them, be careful with kids tho. A lovely morning walk which I shall do again in the future.
This park is one of the most beautiful and natural place in Leeds. You can come with your friends or family or even alone and sit on side of lake for long time and can feel the natural beauty. If you want to spend relaxing time then definitely i will recommend this place for you.
