Small yet wonderful museum. Ground floor has range of shops and streets in Victorian era, and upstairs is featured with childhood collections and toys, magazines from 1960s. Staffs are very friendly and helpful.
I totally love this place! This is my first ever museum visit in England and the Abbey House Museum made it really special. I like the story telling that begins at the ground floor(with Victorian times) and then transforms as you go up to the second floor. You see the transition in the way of life of children, families and even music has shaped the Abbey House and it’s environs. There are also really cool stuff to learn. 😊
I was expecting something bigger but I wasn’t disappointed. It’s quite small but absolutely amazing! I visited during the Halloween week and they added so many decorations around the Victorian streets. It was so beautiful! You can enter inside some shops and there are little details everywhere. You really feel like you traveled back in time. Upstairs there’s also a museum about the childhood in Victorian era. It was very interesting and nice.

The trip has started amazing – really nice and helpful staff ready to share with many useful and interesting info! The museum itself was really cool, made for young visitors and also for a little older ones 🙂 There were places, where a child could have some fun by drawing or thinking about super cool riddles through the tour. Recommending it for everyone in every age! Must have to see in Leeds! ( costs 5£ per adult and takes up to 1 hour to see everything )

Amazingly large! It is a step back in time. The children that were used to clean these monstrous machines, were sometimes chewed up by them. This is where my interest comes in, macabre in a way, but I will be booking a group ghost hunt there. Its thought to be very active.

Great museum, very informative if you like the industrial side of the city. Would be even better if they had maps either old or modern to show the patrons where the factories and industries were. I went on a Sunday morning and it was very quiet.

Rodley Nature Reserve

Moss Bridge Rd, Rodley, Leeds LS13 1HP, United Kingdom
What We Offer:

Rodley Nature Reserve is designed to bring wetland wildlife back into the Leeds area. Created on a floodplain in Kirkstall Valley, a recognised ‘flyway’ for wildfowl and waders on migration, the wetland habitats constructed here complement the nearby River Aire and the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. Situated just four miles from the centre of Leeds, Rodley Nature Reserve is different to most wetland reserves in that the wetlands were all dug out from scratch from rough grassland close to the River Aire. When Yorkshire Water plc decomissioned the Rodley Water Treatment Works in 1993 it was with a wish that their land should be developed as a nature reserve. The land is situated in the Aire valley, an important flyway for migrating birds.

Fantastic nature reserve for young and old alike. Bird hides, ponds, reed beds and meadows can keep you entertained for hours. Also has a visitor centre with a cafe that sells light refreshments, bird food and craft items.
Lovely serene place. Has lots of bird watching huts where you can spy on the wildlife. It’s a nice walk. They also have some large ponds with various creatures living in them. Loads of dragonflies around which are cool to look at. It’s completely free and there is parking. It’s well tucked out of the way, you wouldn’t even know it was there but I guess that is what makes it such a good nature reserve.

This is a beautiful place to visit with family, young and old. The paths are level, with ramps up to the bird hides making it accessible for everyone, including those in wheelchairs.
