I learnt the art of traditional baking from my gran, and have been making cakes for friends, family and work colleagues for over 20 years. After years spent developing skills, trying new flavours, and creating edible designs, the time was right to turn my passion into a business reality. In 2014, Caroline’s Cakes was born. What We Offer:

After a full night baking, we sold our bread at a market stall and hand-delivered a few loaves to our neighbours and the local community pub. We couldn’t have been any smaller. But, we did see an enormous appetite for‘real bread’ – the antithesis of mass-produced additive-loaded supermarket loaves – and the fledgling Bluebird found a new nest: a restored gig-house, now our Malton bakery and shop. What you feel for our cakes is what we made for you with the utmost care and hygienic ingredients.

Excellent bread selection and I’ve fallen back in love with granary loaves thanks to theirs. Their frangipane is fantastic. Lovely, cheerful staff.

Purchased for the first time today. Bought a ciabatta and sour dough to serve to guests. Everyone commented on the taste and agreed the bread was so much nicer than any supermarket bread (even the ‘artisan’ versions). Crusty outside and chewy middle – delicious! Will now be my go to bread place.

Jodie is lovely, professional and an absolute cake wizard. I had a reference for this cake but her interpretation of that absolutely blew me out the water. Looks amazing and it tastes quite literally as good as it looks. Great communication to find what I was looking for.
